Post subject: I've seen episodes 1 amd 2 of the new season

since i'm sleepy i won't go detail to detail but instead give you the main ideas and you can ask question and i will answer them later.
Episode 1 - Cohen's house is being worked on, ryan is working construction, and seth is in portland with luke. Sandy and Kirsten are fighting and sandy then visits ryan to ask him to go to portland. Sandy goes alone and seth denies sandy's offer to come home. As Sandy is leaving, ryan shows up and sandy leaves the task up to ryan. As ryan is in portland, theresa calls and says the baby has lost the heartbeat, then, the next scene shows her and her mom discussing if ryan believed her. So the baby isn't dead, but ryan and seth both go back home.
Episode 2 - The boys are having their first day of school and when they get there, marissa and summer see seth and ryan, summer runs off while marissa goes to see what is up. Ryan and marissa already seem to hit it off and seth goes after summer who rejects him instantly. They have school and marrisa and ryan meet after class and flirt at her house in front of the pool boy, who has been with marissa all summer. DJ(the poolboy) sees them kissing and will later confront marissa and then they will satrt kissing and ryan will catch them and all is shit. Seth tries to get summer back which isn't going well. side note: Seth starts up the comic book club again and a new member joins ryan and seth...which happens to be the guy summer is going for. they all go the kick-off carnival and everything erupts even worse.
Other important topics in both episodes, Caleb is under fire from the DA and will be arrested at the end of the second episode, and hailey will move to japan to be a sales rep for a friends clothing line, leaving jimmy alone again. Which is happening because she is going to "Northshore."

I have a question.. why does Seth try to get summer back? I thought they are together til the end of season 1?

At the end of Season 1 after Seth has sailed away, Summer is so distraught at losing him that she goes into therapy! 
Anyway by the time he comes back she's got a new boyfriend called Zach

At the end of Season 1 you see Seth sail away! And in between then and the start of Season 2 (supposedly 3 months) Summer has been in Therapy!
