So we know that Jimmy Cooper dating Kirsten, and there have been references that Caleb liked Jimmy. Jimmy went to him for help when he was down on his luck, and Caleb told him that he wouldn't touch him with a 10-foot pole. We know that Caleb hates Sandy, so it stands to reason that Caleb wishes Kirsten married Jimmy... but maybe not given his recent circumstances.
Here is my question, does Caleb actually have an opinion, positive or negative? If it is positive, why the affair with Julie Cooper?

First of all, I think Caleb is an ass. He does care about SOME people's feelings, but most of the time he's to selfish to show it. Caleb does like Jimmy, and he likes Jimmy more than Sandy, but not more than money. Hire Jimmy is a bad idea in Caleb's eyes. I didn't think that Caleb actually cared about Julie until recent events (telenova spoilers coming up). He goes to Julie's door and tries to reconcile, but makes an ass of himself, all in the interests of love. So, in summation, no one in THE OC is pure evil. Everyone has their human side.

I think Caleb thinks Jimmy is a screw up because he got caught. He didn't want to be associated with a known criminal. Un- or little- known criminals are ok though. As far as Sandy, I think Caleb doesn't like his "crusade for truth" or whatever the DA was talking about on the golf course. Caleb has made his fortune in dishonest business dealings. Sandy likes truth and justice and all that- and living off of Caleb's money.
