based purely on how entertaining he is, Seth Cohen is the best. I love the mix between romance, comedy and drama on this show, and Adam Brody does all three the best.

Ryan is an interesting, sympathetic character. On one hand, he is given every opportunity in the world, as a result of screwing up, so it is hard to feel sorry for him.
On the other hand, he's been thrust into a world for which he has had no training. For all Seth and Sandy's issues with Newport, they know the lay of the land and are comfortable navigating the social obstacles.
Ryan is completely unprepared for what he has to deal with in Newport, and he gets little in the way of guidance/support from Seth or Sandy. While Ryan knows to get Seth's back from his world, he always seems a little shocked that Seth doesn't get this. It seems like the friendship is one sided, with Ryan doing what he has to do to stay in his new family.
Sandy seems to enjoy Ryan's company, but more like a puppy than a human. It often appears that Sandy doesn't want to do the hard work of helping Ryan adapt, and just wants to feel good about himself for helping Ryan.

i wouldn't be so hard on Seth. He's never really had a best friend. Plus, he's an only child, so he's just learning how to be a brother.
As for Sandy, I think he enjoys Ryan because he is Ryan, remember. Struggling child, no father, mom's always working. He finally has someone in Newport that he can relate to.

I love Seth Cohen and you should too. :D
Seriously though, I think Seth Cohen has really grown by having Ryan around. This is most evident with the Oliver ordeal. Seth realized in the end that he was wrong and screwed up in not trusting Ryan, who's like his brother, over how he saw Oliver behaving. Seth Cohen has been an only child his whole life, it will take him some time to figure out how the relationship is suposed to work.

Well, Seth was the reason I gave this show a chance. At first I mocked my friend for watching the show because I thought it would be an overserious soap opera. But when I finally watched an entire episode, I was hooked by all the humor.
I relate more to Seth and wish I was as funny, but Ryan's a good character too. The writers should just show a little more of his personality (if there's more to be shown), because he comes off as one-dimensional and I can't see why the girls on the show would like him other than that they find him attractive.

Seth all the way! He's like the ideal boyfriend. He's hilarious and totally cute.
Ryan is so boring, he may have bigger muscles, but you need a man that can make you laugh.

Seth is the star in the o.c.He is.....just gorgeous.But don't get me wrong I love the whole cast .But there's just something special about Seth that makes me crazy..hahaha!I would love to be Summer...yoyyyy...I would be on 7 Heaven.So u know..Seth all the way.This is the one and only choice:))))[/i]
