My sister is mentally handicapped. I have broken people's noses for making fun of her. It amazes me that people can make fun of someone who don't even have the concept that they are being made fun of. The sad thing is, it wasn't students in her class who she grew up with. It was people my age and older. I could have killed them.

stories like that make me so angry, i dont understand why people would laugh.
i had to look after a guy once who was almost 21 but had a mental age of like, 6 and he was such a nice guy.

Oh of course he was! It really is a rewarding experiencing knowing someone who isn't even capable of being mean. It's refreshing.

At my school we have a program for mentally handicapped kids.
Everyday they eat lunch in the cafeteria with everyone else, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
One day I was sitting at a table with my friends during lunch, and one of these students came to our table and tried to eat some of our spilt popcorn. Immediately my friends start laughing at him. I told them it wasn't fucking funny and to leave him be, he's not doing anything wrong.
And they told me that its okay because they don't realise that you're making fun of them. I swear I could have punched one of them. I don't know why I didn't.
It just pisses me off so much. Its not funny in the least bit.

Yeah, and not being corrupted, or greedy, or any of those other things people tend to be. That would be refreshing.

kate a smiliar thing happened my friend but it was accident cause she didnt realise he was mentally handicapped. he was knew to the school and he was playing with his ball and it hit her by accident and she has quite a temper so she got the ball and flaked it off somewhere and gave out shit to him, and he didnt even know what he had done wrong.
i had to drag her away, and she felt so bad when i explained it to her.
