After doing my researh on the oc today ( i was bored n thought i would go looking for more spoilers) but instead of coming accross spoilers i came across an interview with josh swartz (writer/creator) of the o.c....
alot of viewers were asking josh why caleb nichols and johnny got a funeral when they werre just guest apperemces etc amd marissa was a very loved and mian character to the show and did not get a funeral or an after math when she died it was all set 5 months later rather than showing us what happened when she died ect. Josh was also asked if marissa's character is really dead.
With all these questions all josh could say was marissa will be comemerated through out the season and she didn't get a funeral or after math for a reason.
I also read that with marissa now dead the shows ratings have hit rrock bottom. But josh wants to test a theory this week in the U.S to see if the rating have dropped because over there they are on the same time slot as grey's anatomy so this week he has got fox tv to air the oc over wednesday and thursday night to see if the wed night gets more viewers not showing at the same time as greys anatomy!

I have my own theory!!! LOL i THINK marissa might not have gotten a funeral or after math because they want an option open to bring the character back! IE: if u noticed in epi 1 of seas 4 last week julie said to ryan "u didn't even come to marissa's memorial service" meaning she did not get a funeral!!! WTF happened to marissa's body? Could they have left that open incase the ratings drop so bad they need to bring her back by saying she took off to live with her father on that cruise ship offer she got for grad???
At the moment spoilers are ony going as far as the first 6 episodes and josh says they are apparently might be only doing 16 episodes this year. Ciould they extend more with marissa coming back into it? Could the very last epi of this season hint a finale of a come back? Maybe this season they are going to try and see if the show can work without marissa and if they can they will keep her dead if not they might find a way to show what happened when she "died" from her side to bring her back!!!!
I hope this season shows the characters trying to move on without marissa but in the end ryan and summer just cant move on and marissa is bought back to the show to make the characterrs whole again!!!

Last year Misha Baton went on rove live and was pretty beating around bushes with her charater as well. She said she was happy the way her character died. She said she would not be in season 4 but made no comment on any further seasons, she said her character had nothing left to do but thats bullshit she didnt get to grow up out of her teenage ways get off the drugs go to college and mary the love of her life ryan. She didn't to make a life for her self or anything!!!!

Thing that gets me so dam fired up is that the show was originally made for ryan marissa summer and seth and everything around them! Without marissa apart of the oc is gone too!!! Season 4's start off has showed them moving on too fast! Julie had a drug addiction then all of sudden kaitlin says one thing and julie gets over marissa's death!!! Yea sure mate!!! Ryan has fair enough made realistic changes by getting angry, avoiding the world and getting closure with volchock! BUT its only been apparently like 6 months and already he is thinking about hooking up with taylor townsend??? HELLO???? that's shocking! And summer, god dont get me started she has hidden behind green peace but see's a therapist for 1 week and finds her self??? Marissa was her best friend, her sister (when julie married neil) and after 6 months at college her life is sorted and marissa is dealt with???? Don't think so! And kaitlin just doesnt seem to care at all her sister is dead she's even rubbing it her mums face saying shit like "well some people are still alive" Nasty biarch! It's like marissa never existed to kaitlin!

I truly hope mischa barton has just taken a yr off and character didn't get a funeral etc to leave her return open! She is one of the characters that made the show the O.C i think the producers should bring her back at the end of this season or at least season 5 say she ran off woop woop and she comes back for ryan the lovers of a love time, show some remorse from ryans behalf that she never told anyone she was still alive and if ryan has moved on by then they should at least give the lovers a propper closure or at least marissa character a propper send off IYKWIM? Season 4 would have worked so much better if ryan and marissa at least kissed one last time before she died or got back together after grad then she died so the lovers had a propper good bye to each other.... Dont get me wrong i am still a die hard fan of the oc and will continue to support it regardless i just think that marissa and ryan didn't get a closure nor did the whole show!!!!

I dunno??? What's ur thoughts on this info? Do u think im reading too much into it? Do u think marissa is gone for ever? do u think she might be just taking a yr off to do movies and come back? tell me ur oc thoughts and how u would like to see season 4 end up!!!!!

Just because Ryan didn't go it doesn't mean there was no funeral. We'll probably find out why that was soon... I'm sorry to break it to you, but Marissa is out.

Did you not hear Julie say to Sandy at least you still have all your kids??

Get over it she's dead, and tbh the show is better for it.

she's dead. i love marissa, i think the sow sucks without her. i love mischa. but MISCHA WAS FIRED. she said it, and she is not coming back. Sad

i'm sure that is not going to be season 5. so we have to accept the show without her, or stop watching it.
