First I figured that I'd be helpful...

Random thoughts/questions (Part I)

- Who would have imagined that a show produced by a McDonald's Happy Meal would be so entertaining?
- 9:11 p.m. EST: Caitlin Cooper actually appears on The OC!
- 9:34 p.m. EST: an African-American actually appears on The OC!
- Ladies, help me out here: are Marissa and Theresa really the same dress size?
- I mean, the only thing that could fit into Marissa's clothes is a pencil. Or perhaps an elongated piece of broccoli.
- I'm saying she's really thin.

Random thoughts/questions (Part II)

- No more Anna probably means no more Jenga. That's a little sad.
- Did anyone else's apartment all of a sudden get very dusty during the airport farewell?
- You know, I once "defragged my hard drive" to thoughts of Angela from Who's the Boss.
- Whoever is writing Luke's character is like a five-year old making his own dinner: "Oohh, oooh, I want M&Ms with spaghetti covered in chocolate sauce and Jello with slices of banana and Ritz crackers sprinkled on top!"

That being said, I was REALLY excited to see BOTH Caitlin Cooper AND a black man in The OC. I'm glad that Caitlin wasn't completely dropped. I knew that the actress wasn't committed to regular appearances, but for a while she was completely unmentioned. As far as including a black man, I'm also really happy that they showed a successful black man in Orange County (even if he's not necessarily from Newport). Given the presentation of hispanics in this show (they are all thugs/whores from Chino), it is good to see that The OC's Orange County features people of all ethnic pursuasions in all sorts of ranges.

But yeah, there is NO way that Theresa could wear Marissa's clothes without busting out in all the right places... although Theresa is pretty thin as well.

I'm saddened by Anna leaving. She could have been a MUCH less involved character (i.e. 6-7 appearances a season, not every episode) as Seth Cohen's best friend... however, the way she left, while sad, was a nice way to show personal growth in both Summer and Seth...

I found the farewell at the airport pretty dull... but I'd imagine that the show's target audiance ATE it up.

The thoughts on Luke were hysterical, I cracked up reading it. That's the best way to describe the show's most flexible character. I love how there are NO limits to what they do with Luke.

We need a dumb jock, should we case a guest star? Nah, let's just use Luke.
We need a guy with a gay father to expose homophobia in Newport Beach... Should we case a guest star? Nah, let's just use Luke.
We need a sensitive guy to explore Marissa's feelings with? Should we case a guest star? Nah, let's just use Luke.
We need a kinda dorky guy to laugh at dumb jokes? Should we case a guest star? Nah, let's just use Luke.

The flexible Luke character is a little much. He's banging Marissa's mom, and isn't AT ALL weird around Marissa? That's too much.

Anna leaving was very sad. A lot of people in these forums as crule to Anna, but she's my favorite female on the show. And I was much more broken up about Anna leaving than about the Ryan/Marissa breakup.
