Who thinks of these questions?? While I love The OC, slater's athletic prowess alone would take the trophy.

I don't know... Ryan and Luke can both throw a bunch, while everyone on Saved By The Bell except Slater was a wimp...

Slater, while an athlete, never really was a street fighter... I'm not convinced that he would fight well outside of a wrestling match.

We've seen Screech fight... it wasn't pretty... but Seth Cohen is SUCH a wimp...

While Seth Cohen is physically stronger than Screech, he is a wimp prone to nose bleeds, while the weird Screech found himself in tough situations... and the point about leadership in the ROTC/Army training program was on target.

I think this a dumb comparison in general. While it's funny because I was watching Saved By The Bell just earlier, there are plenty of better and more modern shows to compare The O.C. with (ok, maybe completely "better" in comparison to the show and the Pop Culture at the time, but more modern). One Tree Hill even, or if we want to go by groundbreaking shows, go with Dawson's Creek. I admit I used to watch Dawson's Creek, lol. However, I don't think it ever left me thinking about the show throughout the week like The O.C. does.

Boo, I guess that it is obvious that a bunch of the OC Files staff members are Saved By The Bell fans, so you get some comparisons, it's isn't totally absurd. After all, Seth Cohen was concerned that when his "Jew-fro" frizzes, he looks like Screech.

However, if you go to the Related TV Shows forum, you'll find that there are (admittedly small) threads discussing 90210, Dallas, and of course, Saved by the Bell.

Feel free to start up a topic in that forum, comparing the show to whatever shows you'd like. I'm sure that plenty of people will chime in and discuss the similarities.

Wow, I love whoever makes these questions! Putting my two favorite things together in one question!!! Thank you God!

Ok, so for the comparison. This is definitely a toughy. If you would have asked this after episode one or two when the punch count was like 6 for each ep, it would have been the OC hands down. But now that Luke has gone from badass bully who someone who thought Mr. Roger's neighborhood was too violent and Ryan is stuck in a detrimental love triangle (arguably more dangerous than the Screech-Lisa-Zack one), the Bayside peeps have a chance. Plus, the Baysiders will surely use their clever tactics to defeat those Newport snobs (u know, pour ants down the enemy's shirts like they did to the Valley boy dressed up as their mascot or put some hidden messages onto the records in Seth's room.)

For the girls anyway, Marissa may do some ODing when faced with a challenge while Jessica Myrtle Spano with a showgirls undertone will get a hold of some caffeine pills and turn into a slutty Oliver, simultaneously spasming and stripping. Now that's dangerous, espcially with that drag queen body of Elizabeth Berkley. But knowing the characters on both of these shows, this will definitely turn into a dance competition since there's a ball every week in Orange County and a theme dance at Bayside everyday. Let's just hope this time we don't have to listen to Slater and Jessie sing "How am I supposed to live without you?" while Luke plays backup guitar serenading one of the Coopers (preferably Jimmy). We all know who will win out in the end though...if AC's spandex tights and Paula Abdul moves don't blind us, Lisa and Screech will kick some ass when they break out the SPRAIN! (let's hope Casey Kasem is the referee!)

Laugh, seriously. The Newport crew is dominated by teen angst, while the Bayside team is all about teamwork and competition. While Ryan and Luke will throw a bunch (though Luke failed to drop the Great Gatsby on Eddie... so he is either all talk or only fights weeklings like Seth and Oliver), the rest of the crew are a bunch of whiners.

I would take Kelly over Marissa ANY day. While Ryan is a better pick than Zack, Zack and Screech would launch some sneaky moves. The Newport crew girls would just sit there scared... I think that including Theresa in the Newport crew is pushing it, and she'd be the only ace in the whole. Lisa and Jesse are tough and Kelly has athletic prowress... The trust fund girls of Newport are pretty harmless.

I think we are all forgetting one of the most important characters from SBTB and a great addition to any fight: Ox. Remember, he was always Slater's teammate (football, wrestling, etc). He was huge and could singlehandedly take at least a couple of the OC guys. In order to even out the teams you would have to add either Oliver or Eddie to The OC but they dont make up for Ox.

PS: Ox (Troy Fromin) also had a guest appearance on Who's The Boss, maybe that is why the Roundtable loves Who's The Boss.

The Newporters do have one secret weapon they can use- boobs. What would AC, Zack, or even Screech do if Summer jumped on them and took off her shirt? It rendered Seth Cohen powerless, and I think it would the Bayside boys as well.
