One can't help but think that if the writers spent as much time on the show as they did on the witty episode titles, they'd really have something there. But anyway ...
The hour begins with Sandy finding his lucky tie for a hospital proposal later in the day. Seth wanders into the kitchen and doesn't sound very excited about the fact that he has an interview with Brown lined up over the weekend. He's have second (Seth-ond?) thoughts about leaving Newport. Summer isn't, however, as she is like SO excited about her interview.
Meanwhile, Kaitlin brings Johnny to the Bait Shop and Marissa isn't very pleased about that pairing. The youngest Cooper daughter tries to make Ryan jealous as she mentions how upset Marissa seemed when she saw Johnny by the side of a different, normally proportioned gal. Know who's also jealous? Matt, of the counter proposal to the hospital staff by the opposing group that offered food and alcohol. Know who's desperate for segues? This guy!
In another attempt at a transition, Seth is confused about his interview. He walks along the pier, sees Kaitlin smoking pot/reefer/dope/MJ/DRUGS and is offered a hit. He turns it down then, but returns later to get himself a stash. In order to relax before his Brown interview - and the Files do NOT condone this behavior - Seth tokes it up. Ryan, however, catches him and tries to calm him down. After reiterating his lack of enthusiasm for the east coast, Seth actually ditches the interview, but lies to Summer about it.
That same day is Kaitlin's birthday. Her party at the Roberts' house is ruined, though, when she and Marissa argue over Johnny. Could the brown-haird skeleton have feelings for the monotonous bore of a surfer? Sandy is also questioning his feelings, after he and Matt land the hospital deal - but only after succombing to the immorality police and offering up beautiful ladies in exchange for a deal. Sandy seems torn about this final result. His son, however, isn't torn at all about pot. The episode ends with him smoking it. A lot.
