The school year begins. Marissa is snickered at by her fellow classmates who have heard all about her overdose in Mexico. She has broken up with Luke as a result of his cheating, but still torn. When Ryan tries out for the soccer team, he learns that the captain is none other than Marissa�'s ex-boyfriend. A hard take down of Luke lands Ryan in trouble with the coach and Sandy; the former has to remind Ryan how close the family always is to losing him. Back at school, Seth runs into Anna and the quirky sparks fly. Anna, hiding her crush for the only Cohen offspring, agrees to help Seth make Summer jealous.
