The show opens with Ryan and Seth discussing the former's lip locking with Theresa. Within minutes, both Theresa and Marissa show up to drive the boys to school and then leave because it is so awkward. Meanwhile, Caleb is named Man of the Year for Riviera magazine and reveals to his daughter the illegal activity that Sean has been involved in on behalf of the company to.
At school, Luke tries to console Marissa while Theresa and Ryan meet in the parking lot. Anna tells Seth and Summer that she is leaving to live with her aunt and uncle in Pittsburgh and Seth is shaken. Later that evening, Ryan meets Theresa in her hotel room, the twosome kiss as they turn out the lights and the camera pans out to reveal Eddie in his car, watching from the hotel parking lot.
At the party to celebrate Caleb's honor, Anna cannot bring herself to say farewell to Seth. She gives Ryan a card for him. Jimmy notices Luke being a tad too friendly with Julie. Marissa lets Theresa borrow a dress and brings her to the party. Unfortunately, Eddie shows up, too, and punches Ryan into the swimming pool. Sandy, meanwhile, makes an illegal deal with the prosecution's key witness in order to get the charges against Sean dropped and help Kirsten avoid trouble.
At the end of the hour, Seth finds Anna at the airport, crying, begging her to stay. Although she loves him as a friend, she leaves. On the way home, Ryan and Seth stop by the hotel and Theresa has left without saying goodbye.
