Preface: As witty as this episode name is, it best not signify the result of the climatic ending scene. The Files hopes - nay, prays - that a more appropriate title would've been "The Cliff-painful-deather."
Now to start our show: Abiding by the rule that Ryan's sole purpose on the show is to save others, Sandy awkaens our hero because Seth is missing. The former tough guy from Chino finds his quasi brother on the pier, waiting on the earliest morning marijuana sale of all time.
Meanwhile, Julie is lamenting the fact that Dr. Roberts doesn't want to date her. Enter scheming Kirsten. She suggests that Julie set the good doctor up with another woman and, when that undoubtedly falls apart faster than the quality of this show, Summer's dad will realize how foxy Julie is. It's genius. Not as genius? Seth's continued lying to Summer about his Brown out at last week's interview.
Later on in the hour, however, Summer discovers the truth and confronts the confused Cohen. He confesses his fears about college, but not his illegal drug use. Once again, though, the sleuthing Summer finds the ganja later on and reacts as only she can, "ewwww!" Sandy experiences a similar feeling of contempt when Matt dates the daughter of the potential hospital's head of the board against the sage one's advice. Maybe Sandy has to relax about the rules a bit, however, in order to get what he wants.
After being caught spying on Dr. Roberts and his date, Julie is mortified. Then, she is shocked when he shows up at her trailor and says he misses her. He is invited in for a Hot Pocket, presumably just the microwaveably meal by that moniker.
Oh, jeez, sorry, we've gone like two paragraphs without mentioning Johnny or Marissa. Well ... after receiving word from Ryan that she had to figure out her feelings for mop top, Marissa finally eats some food. Just kidding! She actually lets Johnny know - via a very mature note - that Ryan is her man. As the newly reformed duo make up for some lost time (through the other kind of hot pocket. Think about it), Johnny gets wasted with Kaitlin on the beach. When he climbs atop a cliff, the couple is called into action! As Ryan attemps to talk him down (we have no idea why), the inebriated Johnny slips and better fall to his excruciating death or else the Files may have to be closed permanently on this waste of televison air time.
