Everyone's favorite holiday gets off to a questionable beginning as the fab foursome are Chrismakkuh tree shopping. When Marissa mentions purchasing one for Johnny, Seth gets an inkling that she hasn't eaten in awhile - and that this could lead to a problem. When the group travels to the hood in order to present the gift or arbor, Johnny tells them that his mom's insurance won't cover the knee surgey. This is one bumming surfer.
It takes the gang an entire commercial break before they're at the diner. Once there, Seth comes up with the grand plan to raise money for the sugery through a fundraising event ... based around a Chrismukkah Bar Mitz-vakkuh for Ryan. After coaxing the real Jew on the show, Sandy, into it, the gig is on! That is, until Johnny turns down the charity offer. Nevertheless, the group maintains the plan.
Putting her dating service plan on hold with Julie, Kirsten goes to visit the new trailor park resident. Julie has given into this woebegone life, chewing tobacco and watching NASCAR. She admits that she hasn't told Marissa about her current living situation. In other situational news, Summer bonds with her father - we learn that Summer's mother left when her daugher was only 13.
Meanwhile, Johnny is going through a rough time. He purchases something shady looking outside the diner. Naturally, Marissa is inside and notices. She then pursues the floppy haired-one to the beach, where Ryan catches this twosome hugging it out. After an inspirational speech from Sandy, however, Ryan agrees to go through with the faux Jewish ceremony and even convinces Johnny to come along. Something seems adrift with this young fellow, though.
On the way to the gala, Julie stops by Summer's house. She bonds with Dr. Roberts, learns that he' actually on the verge of a divorce and sparks seem to fly. Stay tuned on that front. At the charity event, Johnny disappears. He's seen speeding away in his car, so Ryan follows. We see that this suffering surfer has a gun in his pocket and is planning to hold up a mini mart. He's waiting for the last customer to leave when Ryan comes in and saves the day. He talks Johnny into accepting help fromt he rich folk and a crisis in averted. Back at the Bar Mitz-vakkuh, the Torah is successully read and everyone sways to the sounds of Dionne Warwick and company as Kirsten and Sandy deem it to be the "best Chrismakkuh ever."
